The Food Bank of Covington, LA helps to feed qualified multi-member households.  The families receive approximately 70 items of food twice a month.  Non-perishable food items such as canned meats, vegitables and fruits are distributed, as well as fresh produce and meats when available.  On an avaerage day we help feed 80 families, and that's just an average.  Some days we help as many as 100.  That's a lot of food!

With economy in the state that is in, we are seeing the number of families in need rise.  We are continualy adding more families to our program.

During the holidays, approximately 700 families are treated to a dinner - complete with turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. 

How We Keep It Going

We are blessed with 50+ regular volunteers!  We also receive help from dozens of high school groups, church groups, businesses and individuals who contribute their time and talents to The Food Bank of Covington.  Without these wonderful people we would not be able to continue feeding these needy families!

We do not receive Federal, State or City funding.  We operate on donations, fundraisers and the generous time of our many volunteer staff memebers.  Your help is needed, too.  No deed is too small, and all are greatly appreciated.
