Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.
We hope you, like us, are ready for a wonderful, relaxing evening with great food, open bar (Martini Fountain included) and great music. That describes our 8th Annual Harvest Moon Dance. It will be given to benefit The Food Bank of Covington and All Saints Dental Clinic.
We are aware many are experiencing a slow down in the economy and we are definitely seeing it here in the increase numbers of new applications for food at The Food Bank of Covington, 300+ new since January; and in the number of request for financial assistance from the St. Vincent do Paul Society. We have served 3,354 families from St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes since the first of the year. You can understand why we need your help.
The greatest problem we are facing is the lack of food from Second Harvest. They do no have enough food, so we get less. We have had to spend $47,000 in the past 8 months to purchase food.
We do not receive any governmental funding and operate on donations, grants and fundraisers; we have an ALL VOLUNTEER staff. All funds go directly to service the poor and needy. Please help us by being a Sponsor for our 8th Annual Harvest Moon Dance.
The Food Bank of Covington and the All Saints Ministries provide food, dental care for the working poor, emergency financial assistance and clothing to the tri-parish area of St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes.
